Personal care products like shampoos and conditioners, aftershave lotions and makeup are not regulated by the FDA or any other government organisation. It is legal and common for companies to use ingredients that are known or suspected to be carcinogens, mutagens or toxins. Many ingredients are classed as industrial chemicals, even those described as naturally occurring.

Our ingredients comply with the requirements of the CAMPAIGN FOR SAFE COSMETICS ORGANISATION - a coalition of women’s public health, labour, environmental health and consumer rights groups with a goal to phase out the use of chemicals linked to cancer, birth defects and other health problems, replacing them with safer alternatives.

This agreement is also referred to as the COMPACT FOR THE GLOBAL PRODUCTION OF SAFER HEALTH AND BEAUTY PRODUCTS.Companies that have not signed the agreement include Estee Lauder, L’Oreal and Avon.
